After conducting Pre-Season training at Catterick for two days, The Army Ladies made their way to Edinburgh to take part in a friendly tournament organised by a serving Navy Cricket player based in Edinburgh. This is the 4th year of the event. The Army Ladies were invited after the manager and captain supported Cricket Scotland with a women’s sports festival in late 2017.

The Team played 3 x 15 Over fixtures to convincingly take the Cup on a beautiful sunny spring day at Watsonian Cricket Club. The Ladies beat The University of St Andrews, Watsonian Ladies and The Royal Navy to seal the one-day championship that saw 8 teams and over 100 Ladies enjoying some great cricket. This is the largest Ladies sports event that has taken place in Scotland so far this year.

The team welcomed 3 new members to the starting XI for this event – LCpl Mel Melbourne, WO2 Sarah Banks and LCpl Gabbie Clark.

A great start to the season, especially with a win over the Royal Navy.
